Using STEM As A Leadership Tool

L

Leadership is 50% understanding yourself and 50% understanding others.

The better we can understand ourselves and embrace change that leads to growth the better we can help others in their growth journey.

Build A Kid A Christmas

This is a community building activity during the winter where we gather STEM students and professionals together and build toys for the children of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington.

See Better. Do Better. Be Better. Initiative

This is a community building program where our students “See” things in their community that need change, create a plan to “Do” something to resolve the issue, and work on strategies to continue to improve their plan so it will continue to “Be” impactful.

Weekly Workshops

S.O.L.I.D.S. weekly workshops uses S.T.E.M. principles learned in the classroom as a creative outlet to reinforce the importance of leadership and self-awareness in students from 8-18.

Testimonials

The S.O.L.I.D.S. program was great and my daughter Tia wasn’t interested in anything like that at first but when she got into the program, she loved it and learned so much from it. She helps me now with my technology around the house. The program with Mr.Dante was fun and exciting and my daughter loved it.”

Participating in Build A Kid A Christmas is always incredibly rewarding and worth so much more than just the gifts. As a kid at heart, I get to spend a day immersed in creation and tinkering; giving back to our communities in a small way. Build A Kid Christmas has been an annual mini Aggie reunion where I get to catch up with other Aggie Alum and meet new young professionals in the DMV! I’m so proud of the growth and so happy to say I’ve been apart of this movement from the beginning!”
